Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Early check-in is possible depending on room availability; to guarantee an early check-in before 14:00, the previous night must be paid for. After check-out at 11:00, you can leave your luggage with us until you depart from Mirissa.

Mirissa is on the southern coast, 175 km from Colombo International Airport. The journey takes 2 to 2.5 hours by car depending on traffic.

After a long flight, a taxi is the most comfortable option. To save money you can take a bus to Colombo (30 min), then an expressway bus from Bastian Mawatha bus station to Matara (2.5 h), and finally a bus from Matara to Mirissa (30 min).

Yes, we can organise an airport transfer for a fee: 80 USD for up to 2 people, 100 USD for 3 to 6 people. Larger groups on request.

We serve breakfast only. There are many good places to eat in Mirissa for lunch and dinner, most of them within walking distance.

Yes, tap water at Lily Mirissa is drinkable, and you can refill your own bottle with filtered water in the garden pavilion. Please skip the bottled water where you can and help us cut plastic waste.

Mirissa Beach is just 500 metres from Lily Mirissa, about a seven-minute walk. Close enough for a morning swim or sunset on the beach, yet far enough to leave the noise behind and return to the peace of our tropical garden.

Lily Mirissa is not directly on the beach. We are tucked away in a quiet garden just 500 metres from Mirissa Beach. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the sand, while our location offers a little more peace and privacy away from the busy main road.

Mirissa Beach is the closest and easiest to reach on foot. For a quieter swim, you can also discover Secret Beach or Turtle Beach, while Weligama Beach is a favourite for surfing. There are plenty of beautiful spots along the south coast to explore, and we will be happy to point you towards our favourites.

Yes. Mirissa is one of the best-known places in Sri Lanka for whale watching. Boats leave from Mirissa Harbour in the early morning, and during the right season you may encounter magnificent blue whales, sperm whales and dolphins. We can help you arrange your trip with our own boat and make sure you know when and where to go.

The historic Galle Fort is around 34 km from Mirissa, usually about 45–60 minutes by car. It makes a wonderful day trip, combining the atmosphere of Sri Lanka's colonial past with cafés, galleries, small shops and beautiful views from the old fort walls.

Yala National Park is roughly 120–145 km from Mirissa, depending on the entrance you visit. The journey by car usually takes around 2.5 hours. It is possible to visit Yala on a day trip from Mirissa, although staying overnight near the park gives you more time to enjoy the safari without a long return journey.

Weligama is only about 4 km from Lily Mirissa and takes around 10–15 minutes by car or tuk-tuk. Its long sandy bay is particularly popular with beginner surfers, with several surf schools where you can take your first lesson or simply rent a board and enjoy the waves.

Yes. Breakfast is included in your stay at Lily Mirissa. Each morning, we serve a freshly prepared breakfast in our open-air garden pavilion, where you can take your time, enjoy your coffee and start the day surrounded by greenery.

Yes. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. You can choose between cool air-conditioning or simply enjoy the gentle breeze from the fan, depending on the time of day.

We do not currently have a swimming pool. Luckily, Mirissa Beach is only a seven-minute walk away and offers a beautiful place to swim, relax and spend the day by the ocean. A swimming pool is planned for the future.
